Condega is a small village about 30 Km north of Esteli on the the Pan-American Hwy.

Alan Rubin established the Alec Bradley cigar company in 1996. Rubin named his company, named after his children, Alec and Bradley. Rubin entered the cigar market at the tail end of the cigar boom of the 1990s and discovered a congested market. After failed attempts at producing cigars targeted to golf courses and flavored after-dinner cigars, Rubin started selling budget-priced cigars to tobacconists. In 2007 the company managed to break through the market with the introduction of its full-flavored "Tempus" line. By 2011 the Alec Bradley company was selling up to three million cigars annually to cigar consumers around the world.

American Classic Blend

This review 50 X 5 Robusto

This cigar has the Classic looks of a fine cigar, very small veins, tight seams that are hard to see, and a nice brown silky wrapper with an oily sheen.

The cap was nice and smooth and you can tell that a master Torcedor created this cigar.

The cap cut cleanly without any ragged edges and the pre-light draw was smooth with the correct amount of resistance. The pre-light draw had a pleasant tobacco taste.

The cut displayed the ends of a perfectly rolled long leaf tobacco. A further testimony to the masterful skills used in the construction of this cigar.

The foot also showed the skill applied to the construction of this fine cigar.

The foot toasted evenly and the cigar lit all the way across the foot on the first attempt.

The first puff of this cigar produced a hint of oak, some nuttiness, coffee flavor and a little pepper. The combination made for a pleasing puff of smoke.

The first third continued without any draw problems and the flavor and aroma of this cigar was very satisfying. This cigar was firm between my fingers without any soft spots.

As flavors in this cigar continued to develop a little sweetness started to emerge, the pepper picked up a bit with a little oil on the tongue, but this cigar remained an enjoyable smoke.

As the cigar worked its way into the second third the smoke maintained the oak, sweetness, coffee and pepper flavors and continued to be smooth with slight oil on the tongue.

Most of the taste of the smoke was deposited on the front of my tongue indicating a well aged and correctly fermented tobacco. A lot of attention was paid to the over all creation of this fine cigar. Time and effort is a key ingredient in any quality cigar.

On the band you can see Latin  “libertas aequitas”

 Translated as “freedom, equity”.

The last third carried through with the same flavor profile, the pepper continuing to increase without over powering the richnes of this fine smoke.I would rate this cigar as medium plus in strength. The construction of this cigar remained firmed to the end no hot spots developed.

This was a enjoyable smoke and I can easily recommend this cigar to any one who is looking for a great flavored smoke at a great value. You will find this cigar in my humidor and I will share this cigar with friends.

Sublimes Cigars

Hand rolled in Estelí, Nicaragua

Corojo leaves tend to have a spicy, robust taste with notes of black pepper, earth, leather, cocoa, and cedar. They tend to be very oily and have a distinctly reddish-brown color.

Wrapper: shade-grown Habano Ecuador Rosado

One of the uncommon wrapper shades is Rosado, which translates to “rosy” or “pinkish” in Spanish. These wrappers have a distinct reddish hue and are extremely difficult to grow.

Sublimes Cigar

The Sublimes cigar stared in South Florida in Little Havana.

Sublimes according to the dictionary;       not to be excelled; supreme.

This is a very beautiful, extremely well crafted cigar.

The wrapper has small veins with a great looking brown color with a hue of redness.

The seams are very tight; you have to look hard to see them.

An expertly and flawlessly, crafted the cap.

The foot tells the story of this cigar’s superb craftsmanship.

You can see the different type of tobaccos used to develop a controlled delivery of flavor.

The construction of this cigar feels very firm between the fingers with no soft spots. The cigar has a silky texture with a luster of oil.

The Sublimes cigar cut easily producing a clean edge.

The pre-light draw was wonderful with just the correct amount of resistance. The cigar toasted quickly and lit evenly across the foot of the cigar.

The first puff produced a little spice with a hint of black pepper, some coffee and chocolate. Very tasty

The first third of this fine cigar continued to develop great flavors, spicy with notes of cedar, coffee, chocolate, and pepper. None of the flavors were over powering they all worked seamlessly together. This cigar was a pleasure to smoke.

The second third flavors continued the same as the first third. No harshness or off flavors only great tasting smoke.

The last third of this smoke increased with the existing flavors with the addition of a little sweetness. The cedar, coffee and chocolate remained but the pepper was completely gone.

I enjoyed this cigar to the very end and was not happy when I had to take the last puff.

The Sublimes was a very fine and enjoyable smoke. The evenness of the delivery of great flavors is a tribute to the fine craftsmanship, the expert selection of tobaccos and the aging process. You will find a few of these cigars in my humidor.

Give this cigar a try. I think you will like it.

The wrapper tobacco used in this cigar is the sixth priming.

The rows of leaves on a tobacco plant are called the priming. The first priming is the row closest to the ground; the sixth is near the top. Most fine cigar tobacco is harvested by priming or leaf rows Workers always harvest from the bottom of the plant up, taking two to three leaves at a time. It takes the field workers a few days to harvest each priming. The sixth priming is picked about two weeks after the first priming has been harvested. This allows the top leaves to spend more time in the sun. With the removal of each priming more of the plant's nutriments are reserved for the remaining priming. The higher priming on the plant becomes a stronger the tobacco.

The Broadsword cigar has very silky and oily looking wrapper. The seams are almost completely invisible. The cigar has a nice firm feel.

The cap is constructed well as the cigars’ body.

The cap cut cleanly and the draw was just right with out to much resistance.

The cigar toasted uniformly and the cigar lit on the first attempt. The first puff of smoke was full of smoke and had a little pepper on the tongue with a hint of leather. The smoke produced a rich tobacco flavor and left some oil on the middle of my tongue. Overall the first couple of puffs were very pleasant. The cigar developed a smooth and creamy smoke, very rich but not over powering.

The first third of the smoke lost the pepper. The cigar continued to deliver a pleasant smoke and the oil on the tongue increased a bit. The flavor of the cigar remained in the mouth between each puff.

This has been a good smoke to this point. The cigar has been burning very evenly with out any touch ups.

The second third of the smoke's profile has remained much the same with just a little stronger flavor and slightly more oil in the background. A very tasty cigar to this point.

The cigar has remained firm and cool. This cigar is well crafted.

The last third of the cigar has retained its great flavor and has been very constant in it delivery of smoke and flavor. No harshness or odd flavors at all. The taste of oil has reduced slightly, but the smoke has been very enjoyable. This cigar is a medium to full in flavor with a very good after taste in the mouth. At $5.00 per stick it is a great smoke and at that price you could afford to share this cigar with your friends. I have smoked much more pricier cigars that had less to offer.

This cigar has had no burn issues and has had a fairly clean burn line through ou the smoke. The construction has remained flawless and the cigar continues to burn cool.

This is a well-designed cigar and the Kings’ Humidor should proud in this cigar.

 I will be adding this cigar to my humidor.

 You should take this cigar for a spin.

The cigar reviewed Robusto 5x50

The over all construction of this cigar was a bit rough. The seams was visible and showed gaps at some points on the cigar.

The cigar was firm to the touch and it felt well made.

The cap was ruff as well, but it cut cleanly and it showed that the cigar was well packed. The pre-light draw had the correct amount of resistance without being to difficult.

The foot toasted very evenly and the cigar lit on the first attempt. The cigar produced a good quantity of smoke. The smoke was mild with a hint of cider in the background. The cigar did not produce any harshness or off flavors. Most of the flavor was on the front of my tongue. Overall the flavor was not very complex. I could taste the maduro flavor and it was smooth.

The general flavor profile was in the middle of the road.

The second third of the cigar started to develop some off flavors in the background and the taste of the tobacco flavor moved to the back of my tongue. Overall the cigar continued to burn very evenly and never required a touch up.

The last third of the cigar developed a bit of a chemical taste that remained to the end of the smoke.

This cigar will not be one of the cigars that live in my humidor. This cigar may benefit from a little aging in a humidor. If you find this cigar at a cheap price it may be worth a try. I will review the Helix natural as a comparison to this maduro.

This cigar was a gift from Bill a generous man I met through Claudio a friend of mine. This kind person is retired from the military and I thank him for his service to this country. I also thank him for this fine cigar.

The Inch is an extremely well crafted cigar. With tight seams and a very nice looking cap.

The foot shows the craftsmanship that was put into the construction of this fine cigar.

The aroma of this cigar was delightful with a very rich and complex scent of tobacco. Just smelling this cigar may me what to light it up right a way.

 The cutting of the cap produced a very clean cut and also shows the masterful construction of this cigar.

The draw before lighting the cigar was smooth and stable. The cigar toasted evenly and lit on the first try. The first mouth full of smoke shocked me. I was expecting a much stronger cigar. The size of the cigar was a little daunting; you can’t judge a cigar by its looks. The flavor was great but not over powering. The smoke had a hint of richness, a little chocolate and no harsh flavors. Nice and smooth with a tasty tobacco flavor.

The cigar produced a good amount of smoke. The flavor remained the same through the first third of the cigar. The cigar continued to burn evenly with no runs. My wife commented that she like the smell of this cigar. She thinks some cigars stink.

The second third of the cigar picked up on the flavor with a little oil on the tongue. The taste attributes were very rich with a hint of coffee, chocolate and some sweetness starting to develop. This was becoming a very tasty smoke. The smoke did not deliver any odd flavors or harshness, a tribute to the well-aged tobacco used in this cigar. The cigar held it shape and remained firm. The cigar continued to be cool to the touch and burned very evenly.

This cigar formed a very long ash. And only fell off once through the entire smoke.

The last third continued to build flavor and richness with no nastiness and it burnt cleanly. I never had to touch up the burn of this perfectly manufactured cigar. When the ash did fall off you can see that the cigar had a little cone shape remaining. This tells me that the tobacco used in this cigar was high quality long leaf and well rolled.

The flavor remained full and rich to the very end. I enjoyed this smoke.

This was a fairly long smoke about 2 hours and I loved it through each minute. You should give the Inch a try.
